
Elena Fernandez is the Chief Program Officer at St. John’s Community Health also known as St. John’s Well Child & Family Center. As a member of the executive leadership team, she is assigned to develop and operationalize programs to support mission and goals of the agency. She oversees over 11 programs that address social determinants of health. These programs (Transgender, PRIME, DV, IBH, Homeless, etc.) are integrated to reduce barriers to care.
St. John’s Community Health is a network of federally qualified health centers, school-based clinics, and mobile clinics which provide medical, dental, mental health, and support services. Our mission is to eliminate health disparities and foster community well-being by providing and promoting the highest quality care in South Los Angeles.
Elena graduated from UC Berkeley and the University of Southern California. She is a licensed clinical social worker and has also taught for over 15 years in the field of mental health.
