Campaign Tools: Pursuing Racial Equity
As a dynamic public policy change organization, Catalyst California produces an array of case studies, data and analysis, technical assistance handbooks and toolkits. We share them here to advance the fields of civil rights, policy change, and social justice.
The promise of the Golden State can be realized for every Californian. Our data shows the mechanics of racial disparity in California and how a rising tide does not lift all boats.
The Funding Racial Justice program brings together passionate California-based racial justice advocates who are invested in their city and or county budget process and want to see local governments shift funding to support services aligned with racial justice principles.
The Justice Equity Services Index (JESI) identifies L.A. County’s justice-related community-based supports and services in low to highest service areas to inform where to shift investments and capacity-building supports towards equity and justice.
Catalyst California, with the support and advice of several partners, is releasing policy briefs, research, and letters to bring awareness to the racial inequities unearthed by this pandemic and offering concrete recommendations to the officials that represent Californians. California will overcome this crisis by ensuring education policy, budgeting, and democracy issues are informed by those impacted most by COVID-19 – low-income communities of color.
Advancing the field through cutting edge research and data analysis is core to our mission to close the opportunity gap in California. Explore our wide array of publications, case studies and racial equity resources.
