Funding Racial Justice: Budget Advocacy Training for Community Power 2021 Program Overview
The Funding Racial Justice program brings together passionate California-based racial justice advocates who are invested in their city and or county budget process and want to see local governments shift funding to support services aligned with racial justice principles.
It is designed for California community members, organizers, and advocates to learn local budget advocacy and research skills necessary to win equitable investment in their communities. The program includes a series of five 2.5-hour virtual sessions with simultaneous Spanish interpretation, where cohort participants deepen their local budget knowledge, build tools to perform an analysis and lead a local budget campaign, and receive one-on-one coaching to develop an individual budget campaign project.
