IN THIS EDITION:
- BIRTH TO TWELFTH GRADE WATER COOLER CONFERENCE: We were happy to see so many policy experts from across California representing every area of the education sector at our second annual Birth to Twelfth Grade Water Cooler Conference! Thanks to you and the hundreds of eager ECE and K-12 stakeholders from across the state who descended on Sacramento for this event, we were able to vet ideas for policy and practice to build a shared equity agenda that supports all of California’s children and families now and into the future.
- EMBRACE LA: This year as a part of the embRACE LA initiative, Advancement Project California and our coalition partners designed a Community Equity Survey to collect vital feedback from Angelenos on how Los Angeles is doing when it comes to racial equity. We need your voices to encourage our city government to take action and adopt solutions for greater racial equity and inclusivity.
- RACE COUNTS WEBINAR: We’re hosting our next RACE COUNTS webinar and training on October 30th! We’ll provide a deeper overview of the project, tell you our key findings, and show how you can apply RACE COUNTS to your campaigns. In the end, you’ll be armed with the tools needed to frame your campaigns and move policy recommendations.

- The Los Angeles Regional Census Table is now We Count LA, a comprehensive outreach and communications campaign committed to promoting census participation among Los Angeles County’s diverse communities! The coalition is comprised of dozens of community-based organizations that represent the wide demographic and geographic expanse of LA County. Check out the new website, which has a number of different actions LA residents can take like flagging examples of disinformation they are seeing in their networks.
