As the Associate Director of Research & Data Analysis, Elycia helps coordinate and conduct Catalyst California’s research and data analysis activities to move forward policy and systems changes that support more equitable outcomes. Elycia strongly believes in using data and research to make the case for policies that are also grounded in community experiences and priorities. As a research analyst at Community Coalition in South Los Angeles, she conducted community-engaged research as well as policy and data analysis projects to help develop and support the organization’s community organizing campaigns in education, the built environment, public safety, and health.  Immediately prior to joining Catalyst California, Elycia worked for the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. Through different policy and research capacities, she helped develop and implement the Department’s health equity and social determinant of health initiatives designed to increase the Department’s emphasis on addressing social, economic, and racial inequities as a part of improving health equity in the county. She holds a master’s degree in social welfare and public policy from the University of California, Los Angeles.
