We are proud to honor Pablo Alvarado, the founder and co-executive director of the National Day Labor Organizing Network (NDLON) and a nationally recognized leader in the immigrant rights movement. His lifetime of work has insisted on the dignity and worth of day laborers, hard-working people who power so much of our economy. The impact he has had on our region and our country over decades cannot be overstated. We have worked closely with Pablo in the wake of the Eaton Fire and the June 2025 ICE attack on Los Angeles. There are few people more deserving to be called a Transformative Partner.
Born in El Salvador, Pablo came to the United States in 1990 after fleeing his country’s civil war. He worked as a day laborer in Los Angeles while learning English at night. He has since dedicated his life to advancing the dignity, rights, and safety of immigrant workers and their families. Through his leadership, NDLON has empowered thousands of workers, strengthened communities, and championed policies that promote justice and opportunity. His contributions have earned national recognition, including honors from the Rockefeller Foundation, Ford Foundation, and TIME magazine.
