2023 Champions for Equity Awards: Celebrating Solidarity for 10 Years!

10.23.23

Joy & Solidarity

Ten years ago, we set out to create a different kind of fundraising event that reflected the best of Los Angeles, and California. An event that brought folks together across geographies, generations, and ethnic, racial, and economic backgrounds. An event that honored people who truly deserve applause for their commitment to racial equity.

And we have done so, even in the face of so many challenges to our communities, neighbors, and families. Challenges such as a worldwide pandemic, growing attacks on democracy and threats of political violence, and a racial justice uprising following the murder of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and too many others.

For 10 years we have gathered to find joy and solidarity with one another. For our 10th Anniversary we will celebrate the remarkable people we have honored and featured over the years, including Karen Bass, Harry Belafonte, Amanda Gorman, Stewart Kwoh, Sheila Kuehl, Dr. Manuel Pastor, Dr. Beatriz Solis, and Anthony Thigpenn, among many others.

We will also be honoring activists, academics, and artists who are at the forefront of our racial justice movement. Exciting program announcements to come – sign up for our email updates now to be to be the first to know when honorees and performers are confirmed!

Join us to think, inspire, and feel – together – for a more equitable California for all. Register now!
